Take a tour around The Roundhouse

As well as being a superb venue for a variety of business events, entertainment functions, weddings and formal dinners, The Roundhouse in Derby is a great place to come for a day out.

Our Roundhouse Tours are available for anyone who wants to come along and discover more about Derby's architectural and railway heritage. And of course, you'll have the chance to browse around one of the most spectacular collections of historic buildings in the Midlands.

Our tours are open to individuals, families, couples, groups and school parties, history and rail enthusiasts, and take place in the evening and at weekends throughout the year.

Our friendly and knowledgeable tour guides will take you around The Roundhouse, the Engine Shed and Carriage Shop, and reveal the true-life stories of the men, women and children who pioneered Derby's railway industry.

You can walk in the footsteps of George Stephenson, constructor of The Roundhouse and discover how the town of Derby prospered at the forefront of Britain's Industrial Revolution.

Come and join us on a special journey through the heart of Derby's Railway Quarter, where the golden age of steam once flourished. The Tour takes around an hour and costs just £6 per person (£5 per person for group bookings of ten or more).
