Roundhouse Tours

The Roundhouse is considered an outstanding venue for a variety of events such as weddings, performances, exhibitions and fayres, but ever wondered about its history? Join the Derby Tourism, and uncover the story behind the oldest turning shed in the world.

The Derby Tourism tour guides will take you on a journey around The Roundhouse, The Engine Shed and Carriage Shop and reveal the true-life stories of the men, women and children who pioneered Derby’s railway industry.

Roundhouse tours are available to anyone who wants to come along and discover more about Derby’s architectural and railway heritage.

The tour lasts approximately 45 minutes to one hour and finishes in The Engine Shed restaurant with a cup of tea or coffee.

Parking

For public tours on Wednesday at 6.30pm or Saturday at 10am or 10.30am, parking is generally available at The Roundhouse. Alternatively, paid parking facilities are available nearby.

Private Tours

Private group tours can be arranged on alternative dates and times subject to venue and guide availability.
