Built in 1839, The Roundhouse underwent a £48 million renovation, returning it to its former glory. With original features restored, this stunning Grade II* listed building is proud to have played host to wide variety of events such as BBC Question Time, Antiques Roadshow and Derby Telegraph Business and Sports Awards and that’s just to name a few!
A perfect venue for a wedding, exhibition or performance, The Roundhouse itself can accommodate up to 2500 guests, with spacious modern grounds and award-winning accessibility. Situated in the Midlands with excellent rail, road and air links, it’s an iconic space with bags of potential and charm.
The Roundhouse offers an architecturally impressive space of 1,264m². Our unique venue offers a variety of configurations, from theatre through to exhibitions, cabaret and banquets. It is an ideal space for award ceremonies or celebratory dinners for up to 680 people or even concerts and theatre productions for up to 1000 people.
Guests have access to a large private carpark at weekends, however please note, during term time parking is limited.
The Carriage Shop Theatre
A space ideal for a corporate function, product launch or exhibition, the Carriage Shop Theatre is a highly adaptable room, which can seat up to 120 cabaret-style or 224 theatre style, as well as host smaller gala dinners and award ceremonies of up to 100.
The Carriage Shop Theatre is also on the ground floor, making it an easily accessible event space. With exposed brickwork and original arched windows, this is a bright and contemporary space, with huge amounts of potential.
Carriage Shop Library and Balcony
Looking for an ideal space to hold an exhibition or drinks reception? The Carriage Shop Library is an impressive space which boasts original features, such as the orginal staircase, wooden flooring and original arched windows.
With so much flexibility, it’s an ideal space for hosting exhibitions, drinks receptions and intimate weddings. Our balcony mezzanine level overlooks the Carriage Shop Library, and provides the ideal space for VIP drinks or private dining.
Engine Shed Restaurant
Looking to host a private event? The Engine Shed is the perfect place to celebrate! Whether you are looking to host an intimate dinner with a historical backdrop, or you’re planning a birthday or awards ceremony, this is the place.
A restaurant that speaks for itself. The Engine Shed restaurant boasts a handsome environment, steeped in railway history. A converted old Engine Shed house, the restaurant has retained the original arched windows, wooden flooring and exposed brickwork of the building. The contemporary furnishings compliment the restaurant, creating a spacious area, which can seat up to 90 people or 150 standing.
When it comes to the food, you can expect each of the menus to reflect excellent, locally sourced produce. The Engine Shed restaurant offers diners the chance to experience a training restaurant during weekday lunchtimes and a graduate restaurant during evenings and weekends.
